The vivo V29 series made its debut in June with the V29 Lite, which launched in Europe, and that was followed up with the vanilla V29, also in Europe. The series is expected in India as well, but it’s possible that neither of these models will come first – instead, most leaks surround the vivo V29e.
Below are images showing two colorways of the e-model, which is expected to arrive later this month. These were shared by Ishan Agarwal and 91Mobiles. This model looks different from the other two V29 phones that we’ve seen so far.
First, there is no camera island, just two separate lenses. There’s no “Aura Light” either, the 15.6mm LED circle on the vanilla V29 that promises even illumination for portrait shots. The main camera should have a 64MP sensor and OIS, similar to the V29 Lite (which also has just a regular LED flash).
The other major difference is the display – both the V29 and V29 Lite have 6.78” AMOLED panels and both of them are curved. We don’t know the size of V29e display (at a guess, 6.78”), but it looks completely flat.
The chipset will bring yet another change – according to Geekbench results, the phone is powered by what should be the Snapdragon 480 chipset, though some reports claim it will be a Dimensity 7000-series chip instead. The V29 uses a Snapdragon 778G, the V29 Lite a Snapdragon 695, so the e-phone could be the slowest of the bunch.
Whichever chipset powers the V29e, it should be paired with 8-12GB of RAM and 128-256GB storage. The battery setup is expected to be the same as on the V29, i.e. a 4,600mAh battery with 80W fast charging (the V29 Lite has a 5,000mAh battery and 44W charging).
Note that there should be a fourth device in the series too, the vivo V29 Pro. We haven’t heard much about it since a teaser in May.
